JAG Foundation
Buddy had the privelage to spend 3 weeks with the JAG Foundation in Cape Town. CEO, Elana Meyer received me with open arms and I had an amazing time learning just what they do.
The JAG Foundation headed by Olympic medalist Elana Meyer, was launched in April 2007. The Foundation was founded by Greg James, an accomplished and committed sportsman and Managing Director of the Sagitta Group.
The JAG Foundation inspires South Africa’s disadvantaged children to build a positive future for themselves, their families and their communities, by encouraging them to participate in various sport-related programmes.
JAG’s programmes:
MIGHTY METRES
The JAG Foundation started Mighty Meters as a result of an initial alliance with New York Road Runners Foundation (now the main partner of our organization). Mighty Metres is a physical education program for primary school children. Children run 3-5 times a week 1km at the time.
The program operates in Western and Eastern Cape and currently has more than 25,000 children participating.
PRO NUTRO JAGRUNNERS
ProNutro JAGRunners was launched on 28 June 2008. It is an after-school running program which provides high-qualified training for coaches and basic infrastructure for young talented runners.

JAG RUGBY
JAG Rugby is a rugby development programme committed to providing disadvantaged youth with a sense of achievement through sport and instilling a culture of dignity.
The programme goes far beyond sports development, assisting the children to live healthy, balanced lifestyles, encouraging them to excel in their school careers, and developing strong interpersonal life skills.
