Izak Strauss

Izak Strauss was born in Bloemfontein and grew up in Kimberley in the Norhern Cape.

At school he excelled in sport and got provincial colours in athletics, rugby and cricket (Griqualand-West). He was also named Sportsman of the Year in 1998 (Griqualand-West) for primary and secondary schools.

In 1998 he became the new SA record holder in the 80m hurdles.
Cultural activities included drama classes,plays and the school choir.

He attended Grey College Secondary (Bloemfontein) and got provincial colours in athletics and rugby.

He enrolled for the four year LLB degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 2004.

The same year he started modelling and has been doing it ever since, working mostly with European clients like Allianz International, OMV Petrol and various other German sports- and furniture catalogues. SA clients include Levi, Men�s Health and FHM. He played small parts in two international films.

He also coached athletics at Eikestad Primary and did a lot of promotion work.

After two years of studying he got a lead role as a building contractor in the Afrikaans soap opera Villa Rosa on Kyknet and moved to Johannesburg for a year (2006). During the same year he starred in a SA film The Finale playing a schoolboy called Andries. The Finale will be at Film Festivals in 2008.

He moved back to Stellenbosch in 2007 to complete his studies.

In April Izak and Elana Afrika became the two new fieldpresenters of the popular Magazine program Kwêla on Kyknet.

As an entrepreneur Izak is involved in real estate and starting a guesthouse outside Stellenbosch in March 2008.
